Arctic Region
The Arctic region is very vast, and spacious. Extremely severe weather often occurs. Olaf Haansen was a settler that travelled from Sweden. He decided to do this because he thought that the environment would be similar to his own. What he was about to find out was that adapting to the Arctic region wouldn't be as easy it seemed.
The landscape (topography) is a combination of lowlands and mountains, with mostly flat land near the ocean. Unfortunately, Olaf would have to adapt to the areas near the ocean in order to find himself food. Mountains are located in this region, but finding shelter here wouldn't be a great idea because of the high elevation, which makes it hard to breathe.
The weather in this region is fairly severe. Dealing with freezing winters that last 10 months may be difficult for Olaf, but he has the advantage of already adapting to cold temperature. Precipitation usually comes in the form of snow, and the temperature can reach up to -40 degrees celsius. Olaf would have to find ways to get warmer clothes, because the climate is much colder than what he's used to, potentially by hunting an animal to skin.
The plants that grow in the Arctic region (dwarf shrubs, herbs, lichen etc.) are found in the warmer parts of the Arctic but begin to decrease as the climate gets colder. If you were to live in the North such as Olaf, you would have to depend on the hunting of animals, which wouldn't be that much of a disadvantage. If he provided the right tools, hunting polar bears, arctic seals, birds, and more wouldn't be so bad.
Over time the climate may change drastically. In some parts of the region it may suddenly get cooler because of the climate change that seems to be affecting the region. It could make things a lot more difficult for Olaf because of the fact that eventually he would have to travel over thin layers of snow because of the melting glaciers (in extreme cases).
